I was jogging with my dog Jack down my normal route in my small town and listening to my favorite podcast, Creative Pep Talk by illustrator Andy J Miller a.k.a Andy J Pizza. Something felt groovy in the air (don't mean to sound corny), but I was feeling good vibes and decided to go down a path I've never been down. Or I actually have only during Christmas season to check out the lights, but too dark to really see anything else.
Going down this path as I'm jogging, even though it's a cloudy January, I seen how calm and natural looking the street was. Trees just towered the homes as protective guardians, hills gave a characteristic terrain, that felt like the homes had been shaped to the landscape. Only a few blocks from where my family and I currently live and I never knew.
Strange enough, I somehow compared this to my own life. Don't be afraid to explore new paths while doing what you're doing. Move forward but take time turn left or right once in a while, some of the roads are beautiful and you may just pass them. My wife and I plan to move our family this year and we're excited to see this new path.
